Miles Dewey Davis III (1926-1991) was one of the most influential (jazz) musicians of the 20th century, next to Duke Ellington. He was not the most virtuosos trumpet player in Modern Jazz, but had a lifelong mentality of innovation, which never left him satisfied with what he achieved, but constantly kept himself open to new musical challenges, which always triggered impulses that volcanically erupted unto the international jazz scene.
