With over 180 members, the Boston College Marching Band is the largest and most visible student organization at Boston College. Since 1919, the Boston College Band has traveled around the world to represent Boston College at football games, parades, and international celebrations. In addition to performances at college campuses throughout the United States, the Band has performed at the Kickoff Classic in Giants Stadium (1995), the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (1995), and multiple bowl games including the Tangerine Bowl (1982), Liberty Bowl (1983), Cotton Bowl (1985), Hall of Fame Bowl (1986, 1993), Carquest Bowl (1994), Insight.com Bowl (1999), Aloha Bowl (2000), Music City Bowl (2001, 2008), San Francisco Bowl (2003), and Champs Sports Bowl (2007). The Eagles Marching Band has performed on the ice for the NCAA Champion Boston College Men’s Hockey Team (2008, 2009), and has performed onstage with the Dropkick Murphys during “Shipping up to Boston” at the Comcast Center (2009) and the House of Blues (2010). Other Boston appearances include performances of the National Anthem for the World Champion Boston Red Sox (2008) and Boston Celtics (2003, 2005). The Band has also been featured at the Heisman Memorial Trophy Dinner in New York City (2009). International appearances of the Marching Band include the Japan Bowl in Yokohama, Japan (1985), the Emerald Isle Classic in Dublin, Ireland (1988), and a Canadian Football League performance in Montreal, Canada (2010).
