Peace and blessings to everyone! Thank you for taking the time and interest in my music.I like for my music to be truth that others can relate to and/or agree with but also enjoy and be inspired. I like to include an update kind of hip-hop twist yet have a ground base and back bone included. I am a strong believer in my music delivering a message, presenting a strong thesis, but most of all introducing and/or reminding that Jesus is the way. God is our Creator,Father, and Help so we need to look to him in all that we do! My music is also designed to be of like and interest more for young adults and children who believe or desire to believe but don't take liking to traditional religious ways that can sometime be so deceiving, hurtful, discouraging or just plain boring. I want my music to let them know that they can love and honor God yet still feel young and there is still a distinguish in my music to tell the difference verses secular hip hop. I'm even particular about the beats and sound I connect with my lyrics. My music also touches experience, testimony, and just plain down-to-earth life relation. Most of all, my music inspires and encourages myself and my family. Although I am the artist/songwriter, I could not birth music creations without the help of The Most High God, My group ( which consist of my 2 daughters and a close family friend), my producer- (Tip Beats), My studio- ( Houze of Phat Productions- Roderick"Dephat" Carter), and all others. Thank You! I began writing songs in the sixth grade. Don't ask how old I was! lol I can even go back further when my mother and I used to learn songs (she made me write them word for word and rewind the tape..... yes, I said"rewind" and"tape," over and over again) and sing them in church. I loved to sing in church as a little girl. I sung songs back to back at the age of 4-5. I can remember singing in front of crowds of people and the crowds would increase just to watch me sing. I also always loved the piano and learned to play the drums in church at the age of 10 and played for every service. I grew up in a multicultural church with mostly Jamaican and African Christians so drums was contagious! lol When I got older I played for other churches as well. I always prepared myself for the look on faces anytime I played or said I could play drums being that I'm a female and all. lol :-) The same look I used to get and still get to this day being a female rapper who loves Jesus. However, not only looks and reaction but sometime rejection before even given the chance, but I believe in my passion! I can also remember learning old school rap from my brother as he would stay up late to record off the radio with another radio! lol Spilling my age aren't I?? lolSo I have knowledge of different styles of music. I even loved heavy metal as a teen from a close neighbor (which my daughter still can't believe) and Salsa (Spanish) Music from friends. I just always loved music! It didn't matter what style, if I liked it, I liked it. However, I started to lean towards what I was good at which was rapping/writing (I don't free style). So I started with a couple of groups back in da day. One with females and the other with 2 guys. The groups were not as serious as I was so I continued to write songs on my own but had no support with direction, instruction, or finance ( and I'm still learning and need assistance but I'm stepping out on faith). So I kinda made it just a sometime hobby. Anytime that I'd let someone hear me they liked my flo and I'd always end up in a battle. My rhymes back then were not on the gospel page! I have nothing to hide! God has bought me from a long way during my time of stray! I accepted Jesus in my heart and was baptized at the age of 10. However, I think we all go through a stage of stray at some point. I also believe that is where the experiences and testimonies are birthed. I rededicated my life back to Christ and re-baptized in my early 20s. I knew i needed the rock that was higher than I! I'll take you on the journey story of my life in my book! lol So I still continued to write songs here and there but was busy being a single mom of 2 beautiful girls. I later went to college so I put my music on hold but I kept the passion and met some assistance. I said when the Lord helped and blessed me to graduate I wanted to do something for Him. He did that and so much more and here I am!!! I want to take my talent and use it for Him and Him only and most of all contribute to building the kingdom which is to come with the love of Christ for one another! I have more music to come with God's help! Keep me in prayer! Thanks!!! :-)
