No tuning or filters are used on any of these songs, just the real soul in this project: voice and piano.John Boswell's new arrangement to Donna Summer's"Bad Girls" is completely re-imagined, turning a dance anthem into a bittersweet requiem love song."It was the hardest song I've ever had to sing," confesses Paul."Donna Summer is so close to my heart, and with John's beautiful arrangement, we created something very special and unique."Sammi Smith's"Saunders Ferry Lane" has retained it's achingly beautiful darkness."It was the first song we recorded for this project. I love Sammi Smith, and this really is a homage to her. It really set the tone and direction for"Haunted Summer." Dolly Parton's"The Bargain Store" also retained it's haunted feeling, and it's a song close to my heart. It took me damn near a month to learn this song without completely breaking down.
