专辑简介

Stephanie Jansen’s love affair with music started at a young age. (Accidentally) born to young parents (with matching 80s mullets) she was often taken to see live music at the local pub (they’d slide her capsule under the pool table so they could hit the dance floor). She started piano at aged 4 but (couldn’t reach the pedals) then she switched to guitar (but couldn’t reach the chords). She then tried her hand at the trombone in the school brass band (she wishes she was kidding) before returning to the guitar.(After an awkward teenage phase which seemed to last a decade) Stephanie graduated from high school into a string of (horrendous) waitressing jobs that made her vow that if she ever found a job that made her heart sing, she would hang onto it forever.A week after she turned 18, Stephanie packed her guitar and embarked on a year of backpacking (drinking) around Europe and Asia where she wrote her first (really, really terrible) songs. She (didn’t realise they were as terrible as they were and) began to consider pursuing a career in music. She reluctantly returned to the Law degree she had deferred (where she didn’t fit in) and transferred (after an entire 2 weeks) to the Arts Faculty (where she did fit in). Here she studied Philosophy (wankery) and English Literature (reading stuff) and briefly considered a career in academia, which she decided against (after realising that she doesn’t actually like reading stuff all that much). She noticed she liked writing songs and performing much more than all the ‘real jobs’ she’d tried and released her first EP, ‘Risky’ in 2012. She threw her guitar in her (ridiculously small) car and drove around the country to radio stations. She was thrilled when people told her they liked her songs and the stations started playing them. After three successful singles in the Australian country charts she won an award which led to three top five singles in the UK and (much to her surprise and amusement) a number one in Belgium. Stephanie took her first writing trip to Nashville, Tennessee in 2012, which she loved (apart from a bad experience with fireball whiskey) and honed her craft working with some hit songwriters.Stephanie currently lives in Camden (where she kind of fits in) whenever she’s not cruising the Pacific Islands as an artist in residence on the Carnival Spirit. (She is still deeply in love with her job...and why wouldn’t she be!)Fueled by insatiable passion (coffee), she is currently writing for her first highly anticipated (by her mum) studio album, which she hopes to release in mid 2014.
