They said, "Stay safe, stay quiet, keep your head down low
The world's too loud, too angry, let the fire burn alone"
But something in the ashes whispered through the smoke
A voice that knew my name before I ever spoke
I saw the ones they counted out, the bruised, the torn, the frail
Running straight into the furnace where the cowards fear to fail
No armor, no escaping, just a promise in their eyes
If He's there inside the flames, then that's where I'll survive
I was comfortable in chains
Smiling through the pain
Calling it "peace," calling it "grace"
Till I saw their reckless faith
We are the complacent no more
We ran to the fire, kicked down the door
Where the world said "impossible," we said "watch Him move"
Standing ten feet tall on the graves of our excuses
Every scar became a story, every no became a yes
We found Jesus in the furnace
And we ain't turning back for nothing less
The stones were already flying, the lions already roared
Mockingbirds kept singing, "You'll never reach that shore"
But gravity lost its grip when mercy took our hands
Hatred wrote the verdict; Love overturned the stand
They laughed at ragged rebels who refused to bow or bend
Said, "You'll look just like your Savior if you follow to the end"
We smiled through the spitting, said, "That's the point, my friend"
If dying looks like Jesus, then let dying begin
We are the complacent no more
We ran to the fire, kicked down the door
Where the odds said "surrender," we said "watch Him rise"
Dancing in the inferno with heaven in our eyes
Every chain became a chorus, every wound became a song
We saw Jesus in the furnace
And the fire sang along
Let the mockers mock, let the empires fall
We've seen the Fourth Man walking through it all
The world can keep its safety, keep its lukewarm praise
We'd rather burn forever than live another complacent day
We are the complacent no more
We chose the fire, we chose the war
Where death itself lost its sting inside that blaze
Now the broken lead the charge and the blind are set ablaze
You won't recognize the Jesus that the comfortable ones sell
He's here with the outcasts
In the middle of the hell
So call us fools, call us finished, write us off again
We're too busy burning
To care what you think in the end
We saw Jesus in the fire
And we finally learned to live
