I folded hope into paper wings
A fragile craft for borrowed springs
It soared in loops above the tide
A whisper lost where clouds collide
I sent it flying to a sky unknown
But every gust feels like a stone
Paper planes can’t fight the rain
But they carry every hope
Every pain
They dive
They spin
They fall apart
But they’re stitched with pieces of my heart
Each crease a secret
Every fold a prayer
A map of dreams to anywhere
The wind betrays
The flight is brief
Yet somehow it defies belief
Oh the sky’s too wide
The storm too loud
But I still send them through the shroud
They break
They bend
They don’t remain
Yet still
I make another plane
Paper planes can’t fight the rain
But they carry every hope
Every pain
They dive
They spin
They fall apart
But they’re stitched with pieces of my heart
