Hollywood
Slowly grows
No one knows
Just where you are
Chances have
Already flown
No one knows
Just what they were
Suddenly
Something breaks
And reappears
Beneath the water
Scraps of light
Are falling down,
Light as feathers
Of a loon
I’ve been trained by whips of holly
To obey if they should call for me
Dive into
The scrying pool
No one knows
Unless they look
Even though
It’s hard to see
Deep inside the garden
Where they grow
Suddenly
The surface breaks
Your eyes pass through and pierce still water
Looking up
Stare back down
You’re beneath the surface of the pool
I’ve been trained by whips of holly
To obey if they should call for me
Holly wood
Grows beneath
Raise the coppice
Of the trees
Suddenly
The season breaks
And the rule
Is changing hands
Violently
The surface breaks
Something falls
Provides
Obstruction
All we know
Holding hands
Beneath the surface
Of the stream
I’ve been trained by whips of holly
To obey if they should call for me
For I been saved by whips of holly
Having placed each scar upon my heart
