Silence holds more words than speech
a dictionary without a tongue;
each pause defines each hush explains
what voices cannot bear
We fill our mouths with endless sound
forgetting silence speaks more clear;
its sentences are written wide
across the air we breathe
When two sit quiet eye to eye
a library is opened there;
its shelves are built of what’s unsaid
its volumes bound in trust
So read the silence if you can
it is the richest text we have;
a vocabulary pure and vast
awaiting those who hear
