A wisp of spring wind plays with time
Half a moon glows upon the rhyme
Petals drift where clouds depart
Who laughs in jest Who sighs at heart
The world spins on a fleeting art
Truth and lieshow far apart
Laughter weaves through fleeting days
Hiding sorrow in jestful ways
A whisper spun in candlelight
A vow disguised lost in the night
They call the fool naive and blind
Yet only fools hold love refined
Spring winds hum an old refrain
Echoes of a past remain
Let lies turn to poetry let jest conceal sincerity
If a smile can warm the soul why not feign felicity
If words untrue can heal the heart
Perhaps the fool outwits the smart
Though the world may play its game
Still some hearts will love the same
Wooden horses childhood dreams
Moonlit vows and silent streams
If truth can wear a mask unseen
Why fear the dance of might-have-been
The fool still dreams where echoes glow
Where time stands still where soft winds blow
If kindness lingers in the play
Then let us jest another day
