Donkey donkey, soft and gray,
Wakes up at break of day.
Stretches high and shakes his head,
"Time to get up," he said.
Clip-clop, clip-clop,
Happy little feet.
Clip-clop, clip-clop,
Down the morning street.
Donkey meets a fluffy sheep,
"Baa!" the greeting's sweet.
Then he sees a busy hen,
"Hello!" he calls again.
Clip-clop, clip-clop,
Happy little feet.
Clip-clop, clip-clop,
Down the village street.
Carries apples, carries bread,
Helpful as can be.
Shares a carrot with his friend,
So happily!
At the end of this fine day,
Donkey sighs,"Hoo-ray!"
Dreams of paths and grassy ways…
Clip-clop… hip-hooray!
