Old emotions pile up covering the light
Swallowing grievances time after time
Hiding wounds deep inside as habit demands
Never letting a single sigh escape to the outside
Years of yielding leave a body full of silt
All suffering tucked away inward
The surface still keeps a calm disguise
But the weight inside has long layered high
Never once vented sorrow freely
Never let tears fall without restraint
Thick dust has covered the true heart
So deep I can't even see my own scar's imprint
Docile on the outside not truly forgiving
Just never learned to voice the protest
Years of accumulated frustration
Will one day suddenly boil over
Heavy dust blocks out wind and light
Trapping the pain that was never soothed
Taking it all is not the same as tolerance
Carry too long and a hard shell forms
Slowly brush off the dust of years
Allow the sorrow to rise gently
You don't have to bear it all alone
Give the pent-up feelings a place to rest
