Long a guest in Ou’s land, I tread my way home at last,
Tongue slightly changed, temples lightly frosted with time.
Near the city wall, my heart burns fast,
Ten years apart, yet Wenzhou’s taste still prime.
Evening breeze tugs at memories,
Wandering through lanes familiar and long.
Old thoughts drift slowly,
Back to the starry river of years gone by.
Twin towers by Ou River stand side by side,
Green willows line Ouhai’s clear tide.
Tianhe’s tides carry sails far and wide,
Dongtou’s blue waves glow with sunset pride.
Dragon boats race, bringing fortune and grace,
Longwan soars high, taking its place.
Fine wine of East Ou fills cup with delight,
Drunk in dawn and dusk, warm day and night.
Fish balls fresh and fragrant on the tongue,
Crisp lamp-shaped cakes, where memories belong.
Sticky rice fragrant with scallion crisp inside,
Ouhai fish cakes glisten smooth and bright.
Tianhe glutinous rice cakes sweet and sticky,
Dongtou razor clams fresh and tasty.
Nanxi wheat cakes hold treasures inside,
One bite, and hometown fills my heart with pride.
In Wuma Old Street’s smoke and fire,
Old days freeze time’s entire desire.
By Shamao River, noise still burns bright,
Every inch of Wenzhou holds hometown’s light.
In evening winds along Ouhai Avenue,
Waves of innovation fill my view.
A thousand sails rise at Dongtou Port,
New chapters written at Longwan’s fort.
When love runs deep, one taste of Ou’s delight,
Every fresh flavor makes longing take flight.
Wenzhou’s hundred tastes all blend as one,
Tides surge forward; let’s raise our cups, everyone
