On Valentine's Day,
I turned off my phone, pulled the curtains
and pretended it was just an ordinary day
Yet, the roses and laughter from the streets seeped through the gaps in the curtains.
The countdown to New Year's Eve was underway,
and everyone was cheering. I stood in the crowd, wondering what significance this "new"year held for me.
On my birthday, the birthday wish I most wanted never came.
Later, I learned to start preparing mentally
a few days before the holiday. But no matter how well I prepared,
everything would still fall apart on the holiday itself.
