My happiness - KMurdock Music Group
Well, I live in a place
Called the USA
In a nice little town called Springfield
Missouri is where I stay
Just right behind
That old harder house
There's a little duplex
Where on the left hand side there can be found
A little room
With a closet door
That leads to a shelf
With just a couple little drawers
And on that shelf
You'll find a box
The contents protected by a simple key
And locking in that box
There is a jar
Sealed up real tight to keep the smell from the landlord
And in that jar
There is a bag
Ain't nothing special, just some random one I had
And in that bag
There is a bowl
My grandpappy gave it to me
Several years ago
And in that bowl
There is some weed
Now let me take a second to tell you what that means to me
Well in that house there's a room
In that room there's a closet
In that closet there's a shelf
On that shelf there's a box
In that box there's a jar
In that jar there's a bag
In that bag there's some weed
And in that weed is my happiness
Well it's Friday night
After working hard
I'm tired of punching clocks
And fixing my old car
I head on home
Kick off my boots
Slide into slippers
It's time to get real loose
I open that door
To the closet shelf
I reach on up and grab that box all by myself
Turn the key slow with a careful hand
Open up the jar that smells like paradise again
Reach in the bag
Hold the bowl with care
Pack it nice and easy
Inhale that peaceful air
And with that bowl
I smoke my weed
Sit back exhale and let it set my spirit free
Well in that house there's a room
In that room there's a closet
In that closet there's a shelf
On that shelf there's a box
In that box there's a jar
In that jar there's a bag
In that bag there's some weed
And in that weed is my happiness
Some folks chase money
Some chase dreams of fame
But all that chasing leaves them empty just the same
Me I found something real simple, small and green
That little bowl's the key to happiness for me
Now Sunday comes
Day of rest and ease
Got the windows open
Catch that Springfield breeze
I call up friends
They come on by
Pass that bowl around just watching clouds roll by
Sharing laughs
Good old stories told
About the times we had memories worth their weight in gold
When the sun sets
They all head home
But that bowl stays here
I ain't ever alone
Cause in that bowl there's always weed
Reminding me exactly what this life really means
Well in that house there's a room
In that room there's a closet
In that closet there's a shelf
On that shelf there's a box
In that box there's a jar
In that jar there's a bag
In that bag there's some weed
And in that weed is my happiness
Yeah in that weed lies my happiness
