Soft wind moving through my room,
Golden light comes in at noon.
Coffee waiting by the door,
I don’t feel so lost no more.
Birds are singing far away,
Like they know I’ll be okay.
There’s a feeling in the air,
Like the light is everywhere.
I can hear the city wake,
And I feel my heart change.
Here comes the first light,
Falling on me just right.
Turning all the dark to gold,
Warming up my soul.
Here comes the first light,
Making everything feel bright.
And I feel it in my chest,
Like today could be my best.
Tiny shadows on the floor,
Sunlight reaching to the door.
Yesterday is fading fast,
Nothing heavy ever lasts.
Open window, open sky,
Let the old weight pass me by.
For a moment I can see,
Maybe this is good for me.
I can hear the city wake,
And I feel my heart change.
Here comes the first light,
Falling on me just right.
Turning all the dark to gold,
Warming up my soul.
Here comes the first light,
Making everything feel bright.
And I feel it in my chest,
Like today could be my best.
I don’t need to know it all,
I just need this morning glow.
A little warmth, a little blue,
A little sign to start anew.
Maybe all I need is here,
Sun and air and sky so clear.
Maybe healing starts this way,
In the light of one new day.
Here comes the first light,
Falling on me just right.
Turning all the dark to gold,
Warming up my soul.
Here comes the first light,
Making everything feel bright.
And I feel it in my chest,
Like today could be my best.
