The wind sweeps through the sparse trees leaves fall like rain
A stroke of the setting sun illuminates the days of gain
Once in vibrant green with branches we did thrive
Now turning to gold as autumn comes alive
With a gentle leap like a butterfly in flight
Drifting like soft fluff dreams fade into night
No regrets for springs end no sorrow in the way
These falling leaves carry times tender sway
Once we knew the glory in the sunlights embrace
Now we softly wither finding peace in this space
Calmly saying farewell without a tale of gain
Leaves return to the earth as dreams call out again
Born to bloom in splendor departing with such grace
Not wasting a seasons beauty nor leaving a trace
Whats left in the world is just shadows on the ground
Yet the solitude of late autumn sings a love profound
