Morning light soft and pale
Mist drifts over the trails of yesterday
Unspoken words rest on fading pages
As time gently turns summer into grey
If we never speak again
Will you still glance back at some old street
The laughter then the tears we shed
Are they now just echoes lost and sweet
No need for farewells no need for sighs
Life itself is a journey untied
If fate must lead us separate ways
May we both walk forward steady and wise
No regrets no love misplaced
Even if we no longer stand side by side
I hope within your world somewhere
A trace of warmth from me still resides
Some names need not be spoken
Yet they linger in the hearts own poetry
If we never speak again
May life be kind may you find peace
