Maples blaze like fire painting autumns view
I walk alone where bridges touch skies of blue
The moonlight flows down Yonge Streets endless lane
My thoughts drift far carried through wind and rain
The sky clears bright as geese fly south so free
Yet no words I send can cross that vast sea
With red leaves falling and whispers in the breeze
My every prayer sails to you with ease
On moonlit nights I dream of homes embrace
Your innocent smile a time I cant replace
Life sings a song in highs and lows so strong
Yet a heart held to light will weather any wrong
My child though no blood ties make us one
Our hearts beat close like family spun
May you bloom like these maples bold and bright
And stand like pine trees unbent in winters fight
Here the Toronto leaves in crimson glow
Each one a wish a prayer youll know:
For strength for health for the day youll be free
Until that dawn my thoughts cross every sea
