观自在菩萨
While contemplating profoundly the Prajna Paramita
行深般若波罗蜜多时
Realized that the Five Skandhas are empty
照见五蕴皆空
And thus he was able to overcome all suffering
度一切苦厄
Sariputra
舍利子
Form is not different from emptiness
色不异空
Emptiness is not different from form
空不异色
Form is in fact emptiness and emptiness is in fact form
色即是空，空即是色
This also applies to feeling perception volition and consciousness
受想行识，亦复如是
Sariputra emptiness is the nature of all dharmas
舍利子，是诸法空相
It can neither be created nor annihilated
不生不灭
Polluted nor cleansed
不垢不净
Increased nor decreased
不增不减
Therefore in emptiness there is no form
是故空中无色
Feeling perception volition or consciousness
无受想行识
No eyes ears nose tongue body or mind
无眼耳鼻舌身意
No form sound smell taste touch or conception
无色声香味触法
No object of sight and no consciousness
无眼界，乃至无意识界
No ignorance nor its extinction
无无明，亦无无明尽
No aging and no death nor their cessation
无老死，亦无老死尽
No suffering causes cessation nor the path
无苦集灭道
No wisdom nor attainment
无智亦无得
As there is nothing to attain a bodhisattva
以无所得故，菩提萨埵
Who relies on the Prajna Paramita
依般若波罗蜜多故
Has neither worry nor obstruction
心无挂碍
Without worry and obstruction there is no fear
无挂碍故，无有恐怖
Away from confusion daydreaming
远离颠倒梦想
And thus reaches Nirvana
究竟涅槃
Buddhas of the past present and future
三世诸佛
Also rely on the Prajna Paramita
依般若波罗蜜多故
To attain Supreme Enlightenment
得阿耨多罗三藐三菩提
Thus one should know that Prajna Paramita
故知般若波罗蜜多
Is the great mantra the mantra of illumination
是大神咒，是大明咒
And the supreme of all mantras
是无上咒
It is an unequaled mantra
是无等等咒
And able to emancipate all suffering
能除一切苦
This is true and not false
真实不虚
Thus in proclaiming the Prajna Paramita Mantra one says:
故说般若波罗蜜多咒，即说咒曰
Gate gate paragate
揭谛揭谛，波罗揭谛
Parasamgate bodhi svaha
波罗僧揭谛，菩提萨婆诃
Gate gate paragate
揭谛揭谛，波罗揭谛
Parasamgate bodhi svaha
