Before the sun, before the stone
When chaos was the only throne
I was the tremor, I was the groan...
The first shred of flesh on the first bone
A single scale, I fell through time
A witness to the wrath sublime
To watch my brothers, in their prime
Commit the first and final crime
From my slain mother's salt-drenched hide
The stars were hung, the lands set wide
Her bones became the mountain's pride...
A universe born from a genocide
My brother's gaze, a burning brand
His single blink brings night to land
A torch of flesh across the sand
A thousand leagues of god's command
My coiled kin's great body lies
A border drawn for mortal eyes
His tail is where his mouth must be...
He is the cage that sets worlds free
I saw the sea-snake rise to feed
And swallow the moon's silver seed
A gluttony of cosmic greed
Fulfilling an eclipse's creed
I watched the serpent of the Nile
Attack the sun-god's boat with guile
To drown the light for a long while
Upon a burning, funeral pile
Then rose the father of all dread
Whose hundred heads with venom bled
So tall he scraped the stars above
The final enemy of love
We are the fire in the core!
The thunder's ancient roar!
Our bones, the mountains that you climb!
Our breath, the frost of time!
From corpse of god to herald's crest
We are the one true test!
The Great Worm's saga will remain
An echo of primordial pain!
The age of titans starts to fade
A lesser, brutal masquerade
I saw the greatest fall, betrayed
Upon three peaks his ruin laid
The blackest host, in his demise
Broke the foundations of the skies
A mountain range born of his cries
A scar that never truly dies
The oceans boil, the waters churn
A lesson that you'll never learn
Where the great beast of the abyss
Seals the deep with a single kiss
The blood runs thinner
But the fire is still the same
Now just a beast to slay
To earn a hero's name
A lesser son, in gold he sleeps
While a lonely mountain weeps
His passing shakes the stone
And steeps a town in flame that slowly creeps
The wingless father, full of spite
Who crushed a fortress in the night
A river of molten, crawling light
A curse on vision, sound, and sight
His tainted blood, his poisoned breath
Condemns a valley to slow death
The ground itself is his domain
A kingdom built on greed and pain
We are the fire in the core!
The thunder's ancient roar!
Our bones, the mountains that you climb!
Our breath, the frost of time!
From corpse of god to herald's crest
We are the one true test!
The Great Worm's saga will remain
An echo of primordial pain!
The lineage shrinks, the legend wanes
From kingdom's fall to local banes
A swamp-bound cousin, heads regrown
A regenerating throne
A town besieged by claw and horn
A monster of a saint's tale born
The two-legged bane of armored men
Who haunts the moor and poisons the fen
A lesser threat, again, again...
A pest to kill by mortal ken
Our flesh may fail, our bones may turn to dust
Our final form, a chained and sleeping lust
Awakened by a dying emperor's call
To serve his decadent race and watch it fall
The last great echo of a world of might
Before we fade and turn to thought and light
We are the symbol... the memory
A gnawing doubt at the world's deep root
The unmaking of all fruit
A king who walks in human form
But rules the tide and rides the storm
He changes shape, he has no size
He is the wisdom of the wise
And in the end, a banner flies
A crimson shape in defiant skies
They paint my face on shield and stone
My final, truest form is shown
I am the fear, the rage, the throne
I am the myth... forever grown
