The clock strikes midnight on the wall
Papers pile up like a long, long war
My eyes are tired, I can’t stay strong
Still drowning in questions all night long
I see your hair turn white, bit by bit
You hope I’ll shine, you’re so anxious with it
I often wonder when my mind
Will finally wake up, leave the dark behind
You always praise the kids next door
Shine their bright light on my sores
I’m not slow or dumb, just not in the zone
I try my best, but still feel alone
We run different races under the same sun
How can you compare what I’ve not yet done
Every childhood gets lost sometimes
We all grow up through falls and climbs
No kid is born to never learn
No heart should only feel the burn
What you see outside is not the whole
No one flies high without a soul
Kids are not dumb, just not bright yet
Mountains in my heart, tied by a test
Everyone has a gift to give
Everyone a way to live
Every star has its own way to orbit
Kids are not dumb, just need some time
Storms will pass, and strength will shine
No rainbow comes without the rain
A steed will find its way again
I will bloom in the world that’s made for me
High mountains meet the flowing stream
A soul will find its trusting team
I have a dream deep in my heart
Waiting for the door to part
Scolding won’t help me really grow
Love and patience make me strong, you know
Just trust me more, just wait a while
I’ll be the pride that makes you smile
I’m not dumb
I just wake up a little late
I’ll keep trying
To be uniquely great
Kids are not dumb, just not bright yet
Mountains in my heart, tied by a test
Everyone has a gift to give
Everyone a way to live
Every star has its own way to orbit
Kids are not dumb, just need some time
Storms will pass, and strength will shine
No rainbow comes without the rain
A steed will find its way again
I will bloom in the world that’s made for me
Kids are not dumb
Wait for the flower to bloom
The future will come
Soon
