The dawn paints gold upon my folded plumes
In the boundless hush where the spirit blooms
I bide my time until the vernal breath stirs
Hidden sparks of flame veiled from prying eyes
But when the shadow falls and the hearth grows cold
The north wind bites a story yet untold
Small birds chirr up in a cage of jade and spite
Mocking the eagles silence in the depth of night
I crave no shelter no withered bough to cling to
Let the owls shriek their envy fierce and bold
My soul is the Phoenix born of a dragons fire
Rising from embers higher and higher still
Through ancient forests through the storms embrace
I find the starlight in this quiet space
Night wraps the world in a veil of soft grey
A thousand betrayals a light that has faded away
They thought my melody had withered into dust
Broken by the years and the slow weight of rust
Then came a sage hand through the veil of gloom
A heart of pure jade making virtue bloom
The clouds part
the darkness flees in flight
My mended wings unfurl to greet the coming light
I scan the eight deserts from the skys vast dome
A sovereign spirit that never truly dies
Kindness is my sun and truth my unshakable tree
The wise clear the mist the brave let the heavens breathe
To honor the guiding hand
My heart begins to burnmy hand extends to turn the tide
To the high firmament I finally return
With the wings of a Roc three thousand miles I soar
Virtue outlives the moon now and forever more
Under the morning sun I spread my wings again
A messenger of light far above the rain
My song is a river Echoing
Grace upon the world
