"Oath of the Peach Garden"(Revised Version)
(Verse 1)
Peach blossoms blaze yet not half so bright as our fiery resolve
Three cups of strong wine to heaven and earth and to you and me we raise
Turbulent winds of chaos rise the Yellow Turbans lay the land to waste
Beneath the covenant hall we swear in blood a vow that shall not fade
In life we share the same quilt in death the same coffin—together we brave ten thousand miles of storm
On Zhuo Commandery’s streets true hearts meet and heroes recognize their own
Adrift like duckweed in troubled times we stand united our wills as one
(Verse 2)
Beyond Hulao Pass the eight-foot spear cleaves dawn from night
Green Dragon Blade cold it snaps the tyrants’arrogant cries
Before the warmed wine grows cold Hua Xiong’s head falls banners sway in triumph
Three heroes face Lu Bu their valor pierces the clouds—all under heaven know their name
Drums pound shaking the earth feudal lords gaze in awe at the young warriors
Iron steeds kick up dust daring to contend with mighty lords for glory
(Chorus)
Liu Guan Zhang—treading through frost across the nine provinces
One Green Dragon Blade one eight-foot spear held high
Lord Liu’s benevolence upholds the kingdom’s thousand-mile span
Brothers side by side daring to lift the heavens and turn the earth
Liu Guan Zhang—drinking deep from a thousand waves of hardship
A hero’s blood spilled staining the Han’s ancestral lands
The Peach Garden oath carved into the annals of history page upon page
Merits and faults for a thousand autumns let posterity judge
(Verse 3)
Reunited at the ancient city horse hooves crush the sorrow of separation
Beneath the Golden Oath Pavilion tears of reunion soak old robes
Flames rage in Xinye burning Cao’s million troops to ash
Stormy waves at Chibi borrowing the east wind to shatter loneliness
Winds and rains besiege Jingzhou at Baidi City’s head—our original heart never wavers
Cold sand at Linju cannot cool Guan Yu’s loyal bones
Banners march against Wu still bearing Zhang Fei’s unquenched hatred
(Verse 4)
A thousand li alone on horseback a solitary shadow mirrored in the setting sun
Crossing five passes slaying six generals—loyalty and righteousness etched in his chest
Zhang Fei’s roar shakes the earth even the Dangyang Bridge breaks and the river reverses course
Liu Bei entrusts his orphaned son weeping blood longing for the Han’s restoration
A promise worth a thousand gold pieces life and death together—never failing the Peach Garden’s pledge
(Bridge)
Behold—riding through smoke and fire hooves thunder across the eight wildernesses
Hear—in the cold night the zhu harp plays breaking hearts with its mournful tune
Even if the road ends Shu’s steep jagged roads swords clench firm
With “righteousness”as our creed what care we for life or death
Alas—the years cannot erase the fragrance of that year’s peach blossoms
Mourn—gathering and parting are all fate hot blood staining the setting sun
Though victory eludes us heroic spirits still guard the old rivers and mountains
A page in history their loyalty towering above the clouds eternal
Liu Guan Zhang—their ambition to settle the nation’s rise and fall
A plan to divide the realm into three hot blood writing the tale of vicissitudes
Gathering and parting all for the people’s peace and well-being
The Peach Garden dream for a thousand autumns still burns bright
(Outro)
Peach blossoms bloom again covering the old battlefield
Their loyalty towering above the clouds left to the world as an example
A thousand years later we still hear the echo of that ancient oath
The Peach Garden spirit passed down through the years forever enduring
