Fields of Empty - Bao Binh
The fields stretch wide, the crops are thin
He keeps steps out, but the same within
Each furrow tells a story long
Of days gone right, and nights gone wrong
He tills the earth with heavy hands
For every seed that life demands
But the harvest seems so far away
And hunger grows with each new day
In fields of empty, skies of gray
He works his heart up anyway
Though the soil is tired, he'll never be
Fields of empty, but his soul stays free
Fields of empty, hearts of stone
He tills the earth, but he's not alone
Though the load
The rain comes down, it fills the air
But no one said that life was fair
His hands are rough, his back is bent
But every breath is heaven sent
He tills the earth with heavy hands
For every seed that life demands
But the harvest seems so far away
And hunger grows with each new day
In fields of empty, skies of gray
He works his heart up anyway
Though the soil is tired, he'll never be
Fields of empty, but his soul stays free
Fields of empty, hearts of stone
He tills the earth, but he's not alone
Though the load
Hearts of stone stays free
The world may turn, the rain may fall
But in his hands he holds it all
Fields of empty, but hope still grows
In every drop, in every row
In fields of empty, skies of gray
He works his heart up anyway
Though the soil is tired, he'll never be
Fields of empty, but his soul stays free
Fields of empty, hearts of stone
He tills the earth, but he's not alone
Though the load
Hearts of stone stays free
But his soul stays free
But his soul stays free
