Rivers do not ask for borders
The moon and sun shine without divide
Yet why do we build these walls
Letting war paint the night with firelight
Mountains do not choose their people
The sky embraces all the same
Yet hunger lingers in silent streets
And sickness calls out nameless pain
Can swords ever mend the wounded
Can smoke ever warm a frozen soul
The greatest enemy we should fight
Is not the face across the shore
If we must battle let it be poverty
Let no childs dreams be lost to despair
If we must strive let it be disease
So love may rise beyond the air
We were born upon the same earth
Why cage our hearts within these lines
May we cast our fears aside and stand as one
For the light of unity will always shine
