Love at First Latte - ExChillCafe
The morning mist is clinging to the street
I'm tucked away in this window seat
The bell above the door gives a tiny ring while the steam from the counter starts to sing
I was looking for a dark roast, a bitter blend until I saw a face that felt like a friend
You were holding a book and a ceramic cup, I was too shy to even look up
But then you caught my eye with a sleepy grin and that's when the magic started to begin
I forgot my order, I forgot the time, everything felt like a perfect rhyme
It was love at first latte, sweet and light
Turning the morning so soft and bright
A little bit of foam and a heart in the cream, waking me up from a lonely dream
Now every sip tastes like you and me
The warmest kind of chemistry
Now the barista knows just what to do
Two sugars for me and a black for you
We sit in the corner where the sun hits the floor, I've never wanted for anything more
Than the smell of the beans and the sound of your voice, choosing you was my favorite choice
The world moves fast outside the glass, watching the people and the buses pass
But in this cafe the clock just slows as our little coffee-colored romance grows
It was love at first latte, sweet and light
Turning the morning so soft and bright
A little bit of foam and a heart in the cream, waking me up from a lonely dream
Now every sip tastes like you and me
The warmest kind of chemistry
Bottom of the cup, bottom of my heart
That's where our story got its start
Got its start
